Haʻikū Press was founded in 2010 as an indie publishing firm for current and future novelists who purposefully chose a different path than that of traditional publishing. At the time of its creation, the founders of Haʻikū Press were frustrated with the stagnation in the traditional publishing industry and were propelled to make a change. That change came in the form of an indie concept that smaller is better, it’s more agile and higher in quality. Haʻikū Press is the independent small press solution for writers today.
Haʻikū, is Hawaiian for ‘rare’ and is also a small Hawaiian town on the island of Maui.
